Now Lilac Hedge Farm is back in Holden with a new farm home, a place to put down roots and grow for generations. We named our farm in honor of the former Lilac Hedge Dairy belonging to Donald MacKay (Ryan's grandfather) which was located in Holden for four generations.
LILAC HEDGE FARM FULL
Things have come full circle for the Lilac Hedge Farm brand. Opening the Boston Public Market store and purchasing the farm have been long term goals that could not have been achieved without our supportive customers. The former dairy farm will provide plenty of pasture for our Black Angus Cattle and Katadhin/Dorper sheep. In addition, we are looking forward to scheduling open farm days in the spring to celebrate! We are very grateful to our customers, many of which have become friends, for supporting us throughout the years and especially during this time of exponential growth. While attending 10 farmer's markets in addition to a opening a full time store at the Boston Public Market, we've found the perfect farm to call home. It's been a labor of love, but a time consuming one.

Moving livestock from one location to another, travelling to as many as four different locations to feed and check on our animals. After four years operating on borrowed and leased land, we have purchased a 325 acre farm in Holden, Massachusetts!Īs young farmers striving to grow our business, we have been challenged by the lack of one location.
